This Metallurgist will be part of one of Orica’s four key verticals, Specialty Mining Chemicals. The purpose of the role is to promote and commercialise Orica’s Specialty Reagent products. Based in Indonesia, the key offering will be Solvent Extractants for Laterite Nickel and Copper processing facilities.
Mineral Processing Expertise
• The role will be responsible engaging with our customers’ metallurgy teams to:
• Understand their challenges
• Identify solutions that meet their needs
• Design and manage trial programs, at 3rd party laboratories, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the solution
• Collaborate with customers to conduct plant trials
• Providing ongoing customer support throughout the contract term
Be a Trusted Advisor
• Develop and maintain relationships with key technical, engineering & operational stakeholders on customer sites
• Contribute towards the preparation of sales and marketing collateral (including developing case studies)
• Capture and share market intelligence within the Specialty Reagent industry
Business Development
• Collaborate with Orica’s Business Development Team to identify and pursue opportunities
• Conducting in-person customer visits to understand their operations and present Orica value propositions
• Identify new products to add to Orica’s offering
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Materials Science / Technology, Mining, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Operational experience in solvent extraction-electrowinning
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (Bahasa and English)
• Entrepreneurial mind-set
• Passion for travel and ability to work in multi-cultural teams
• Proven ability to influence a wide array of stakeholders
• Mining and/or Chemicals industry experience
• Operational experience in flotation
• Naturally inquisitive mind
• Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character
• Builds the trust of others both internally and externally
• Business Development or Sales experience
• Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value.
