The purpose of an COM onboard engineer job is to design, implement, test and maintain interfaces between different Onboard Communication Systems, ensuring they function effectively at OCC by interfacing to train to ground system and wayside systems.

Kewajiban

• Designing and implementing design criteria, interfaces between different Onboard Communication system, Software systems, ensuring that they function effectively and meet business requirements.
• Collaborating with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop integration solutions and ensure that they are implemented properly.
• Conducting testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with interfaces.
• Ensure design documentation (CDR, PDR, FDR) are built based on customer requirement.
• Documenting interface specifications and implementation details.
• Maintaining interfaces and ensuring that they continue to function effectively as systems are updated and maintained over time.
• Manage internal stakeholders, mainly rolling stock, network team and wayside communication team.
• Manage supplier to ensure all design and interface elements are complied.
• Researching new integration technologies and trends to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry.

Kualifikasi

• Technical knowledge: They should have a strong understanding of technical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and identify potential areas of conflict or miscommunication between systems.
• Analytical thinking: They should have the ability to analyze complex relationships between systems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Communication skills: They should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
• Teamwork: The interface engineer should be able to collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders from different departments to achieve project goals.
• Problem-solving skills: They should have experience in identifying and resolving issues that arise during the development and implementation.
