Process Excellence Engineer

Our extensive product list includes: exterior and interior parts and powertrain parts for premium automotive and motorcycle OEM’s.

About this position

The Process Excellence Engineer is responsible for improving manufacturing operations by implementing Lean strategies, reducing waste, and enhancing production efficiency through training and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing operations by reducing waste and product defects.
• Design and monitor operating mechanisms to ensure the adequacy and efficiency of production processes.
• Supports the development, implementation of the plant Lean Strategy in alignment with COPEx Roadmap.
• Coaches and Mentors Production Leaders and COPEx Team and develop the Lean/Process Excellence training plan.
• Develop COPEx Standards through coaching/mentoring Production Leaders and support COPEx/Kaizen Events/Workshops.
• Leads and Facilitates Team Leaders training and development.
• Supports total Process Excellence in facilities by training and deploying Lean tools such as Standardized Work, J-I-M, SMED, Problem Solving, Flow, Kanban, Implementation, TPM, Visual Management, 5S, and Process design.
• Measures Local results (Lean Savings, Project Accomplishments) and provides Management reporting and communication.
• Reviews a company's manufacturing activities and provides recommendations to reduce tooling cost and improve setup times, material flows and cycle times.
• Analyzes manufacturing data or process information, monitors surroundings or materials, makes decisions and solves complex problems.
• Identify non-value added activities and redesign the manufacturing process to eliminate these non-value added activities.
• Seek to minimize inventory, cycle time, system complexity, and unnecessary processing steps.
• Focused on eliminating non-value added activities, reducing wasted effort, delays, and defects.
• Responsible for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing system and coordinate with cross functional team.
• Conduct and review the manufacturing process to improve material flow, Standard work, JIT, VSM.
• Set up Work Place Organization, 5S and Visual control in plant.
• Report and update the progress to Managing Director.
• Train/Educate for Lean principle and tools to others in the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in industrial engineering, Production Engineering or Related field.
• At least 7 years’ experience to implement Lean/TPS and Kaizen or CI Project Leader.
• Good communicate in English both written and spoken.
• Certified Lean Master and/or Six Sigma Black Belt would be advantage.
• Leadership, communication, coaching and training skills is a must.
