Costing Specialist [6-Month Contract with Potential for Permanent Placement]
About this position
Responsibilities
• Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis of products, projects, and operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring accurate cost allocation and tracking.
• Reporting: Prepare comprehensive cost reports and present findings to management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Variance Analysis: Analyze cost variances and investigate root causes, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory costs, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost management and efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including production, procurement, and finance, to ensure accurate cost data and effective cost control.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
