About this position

The Field Service Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's field service operations. This includes coordinating and supervising field service technicians, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The Field Service Director reports directly to the company's Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives in the field service department.
• Supervise and manage a team of field service technicians, providing guidance, training and support to ensure delivery of high quality service.
• Monitor and analyze field service operations, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their needs and concerns quickly and effectively.
• Develop and manage field service budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating them into field service department processes and procedures.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure consistent service excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of field service technicians, providing feedback and coaching to improve their skills and performance.
• Prepare and present reports on field service activities, including key performance indicators, to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering or business administration
• Minimum 10 years experience in field service management, preferably in a similar industry
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team of field service technicians
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of company products and services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
