About this position

The BOI and Custom Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with BOI regulations and customs laws, managing customs clearance activities, and maintaining relationships with government agencies and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with BOI regulations and guidelines related to customs and international trade for the manufacturing sector.
• Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of customs laws, import/export regulations, tariffs, and duty rates to provide accurate guidance and advice to the organization.
• Coordinating and managing all customs clearance activities, including preparing and reviewing customs documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Liaising with government agencies, such as the Customs Department, BOI, and other relevant authorities, to facilitate the clearance of imported and exported goods.
• Resolving any customs-related issues or disputes efficiently and effectively, maintaining a strong working relationship with relevant authorities.
• Overseeing the end-to-end import and export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, shipping, and delivery.
• Communicating and negotiating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments.
• Maintaining accurate records of import and export activities, including shipment details, costs, and compliance documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of experiences in BOI and import-export, or a similar position, possibly in the automotive industry.
• Knowledge of BOI laws, Customs regulations, inbound & outbound clearance processes and customs broker qualifications is preferred.
• Systematic thinking good problem-solving skills, strong leadership, skills and ability to work within a team.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities, with a customer-oriented approach.
• Proactive hands-on interpersonal skills.
• Can-do attitudes and work under complexity and challenging circumstance.
