About this position

The General Manager-Ocean Freight Forwarding will lead and manage the overall Ocean Freight Forwarding Business Group, focusing on business performance, operational performance, customer relationship management, and people development to support the company's strategic direction and drive growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall Ocean Freight Forwarding Business Group including planning and monitoring business performance, operational performance, customer relationship management and people development to support the Company's strategic direction and to drive Ocean Freight business growth
• Formulate Ocean Freight Forwarding Business Group mid-term strategies aligning with company strategic direction. Establish and drive a mid-term business plan, operational strategies to achieve business growth and increase profitability
• Manage the whole operation of the respective teams, provide operational solutions and make sure that all relevant processes are carried out properly in response to business/ customers' requirements
• Responsible for/ monitor/ review the overall team performance outcomes & progress and make some adjustments & improvements to be incorporated with the strategies & objectives Align processes, resources-planning and team’s goals with the Business Group’s overall strategy
• Ensure the effective & smooth coordination and information flow within/ across the teams and guidance of all relevant activities
• Ensure the most competitive Ocean Freight rates and the most reliable shipping line services in response to the requirements of our customers & trade lanes, and in alignment with procurement strategy.
• Provide a variety of Ocean Freight Forwarding solutions for customers' supply chains (i.e. Import & Export FCL, Import & Export LCL Own Consolidation Service, NVOCC Service
• Strengthen relationship with vendors, carriers, freight-forwarders, port authorities, sub-contractors of Cross Border and business partners to ensure the smooth operation and expand business prospects
• Motivate, coach and lead team members to ensure accountability and expected outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any related field
• At least 15 years experienced in logistics business with at least 10 years at management level with direct experienced in ocean freight forwarder business
• Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight Forwarding business (i.e. FCL, LCL, NVOCC, etc.), International Trade Legislation Compliance, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Pricing for Cargo Services/Operations and Cross Border, Business Process Improvement, Vendor Management
• Strong Business acumen, Data analysis, Project management skill
• Strong leadership, People management, Problem-solving skills, Analytical & Systematic thinking Skills
• Accountability, Committed, Adaptability, Comfort dealing with ambiguity
• Customer focus Oriented, Collaboration & Teamwork
• Excellent communication, Presentation skills and negotiation skills
