About this position

The Assistant Manager-Shipping (Ocean Customs Clearance) is responsible for managing the Shipping Team to ensure compliance with customs laws and regulations, overseeing daily operations, and providing training to staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Shipping Team to ensure the correctness of the customs release process, ensuring compliance with customs laws, regulations, and formalities.
• Advise the Shipping Team and Customer Service Team on customs formalities and resolve any operational issues with customers to maximize benefits in accordance with customs regulations.
• Oversee daily operations, including the customs clearance process, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely completion to meet customer requirements and organizational goals.
• Monitor subordinates coordinating with Customs Officers (Leamchabang/Rayong) to ensure cargo is released correctly and on time.
• Provide knowledge regarding customs laws and related regulations to shipping staff and relevant personnel at all ports to ensure compliance and avoid customs penalties.
• Monitor the customs clearance process to ensure it meets KPI targets.
• Review and update new rules and regulations from relevant government bodies and provide training to subordinates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in import-export customs clearance or a related field.
• Background and knowledge in customs clearance is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of management experience.
• Good understanding of customs clearance processes and import ocean procedures.
• Service-minded with the ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Good command of English.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with strong presentation skills.
