Trees4Treesâ„¢ is an activity of Yayasan Bumi Hijau Lestari, a non-profit foundation, established in Indonesia to empower local communities through partnership reforestation initiatives and related education programs. The Foundation works with local partners to produce tree seedlings of high value species, which are distributed to local land owners free of charge. These local people are granted ownership with their commitment to plant and care for the trees. The communities also benefit from the technical guidance provided by the program on planting, good forestry practices and education on the economic benefits of a healthy environment.

About this position

Tree4Trees is seeking an experienced Project Development Manager to join their team in Semarang, Indonesia. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, responsible for identifying new forestry projects and preparing project proposals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management and external resources to identify new forestry project opportunities.
• Align new project planning with the organization’s capacities and market demand by working closely with management, marketing, and operations.
• Analyze and determine the feasibility of potential projects by gathering information from internal and external sources.
• Direct a team of professionals to research and optimize potential project design to fit the goals of supporters, the organization and stakeholders.
• Develop project schedules in coordination with operational and sales teams.
• Prepare budgets and financial analyses for proposals.
• Create compelling proposals tailored to specific clients or target markets.
• Participate in the presentation of proposals to potential supporters.
• Facilitate project kick-off meetings with relevant stakeholders to transfer project details to operations and project management.
• Prepare work plans and budgets for the operation of the workgroup.
• Manage the schedule for on-time production of new project proposals and requests for additional information.

• Forestry graduates are preferred
• 5 years experience in forestry project design
• Experience in carbon projects is a plus
• Perfect English and Bahasa Indonesia, spoken and written
• Skilled use of office machines and software such as MS Word, Excel, etc.
• An understanding of the components needed to develop a forestry project
• Experience with nature-based carbon credit/offset project design
• Experience with community and stakeholder engagement programs
