About this position

Weatherford is seeking a Drilling Engineer to provide engineering interface with directional drilling personnel, Well Planners, RTOCs, and customers. The role involves compiling and maintaining information for proposals, daily updates, and end of well reports, leading the design and planning of conventional and complex wells, and providing real-time support to DS Engineers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering interface with directional drilling personnel, Well Planners, RTOCs, and customers.
• Compile and maintain information for proposals, daily updates, and end of well reports.
• Lead the design and planning of conventional and complex wells.
• Take part in tender responses related to projects.
• Follow the Drilling Engineering process.
• Provide real-time support to DS Engineers and clients.
• Know and comply with the DE Standard and approved local Appendices.
• Follow the drilling engineering “Rules to live by”.
• Comply with standards, internal processes, drilling instructions, and operational procedures.
• Establish and maintain constant communication with in-line management.
• Responsible for the QA/QC process for the creation and management of a drilling events database.
• Support training of directional drillers and MWD.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Experience in multiple complex environments.
• Knowledge of DE Standard and approved local Appendices.
• Familiarity with drilling engineering processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to comply with standards, internal processes, and operational procedures.
• Experience in QA/QC processes.
• Ability to provide real-time support to engineers and clients.
• Training experience for directional drillers and MWD.
