Senior Flavour Application Food Technologist (Sweet Segment)
About this position
The Senior Flavour Application Food Technologist (Sweet Segment) is responsible for developing and improving application recipes for sweet flavor development across various food segments, while also mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with legal and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
• Develop new or improve application recipes to support sweet flavor development (beverages, dairy, confectionery, bakery)
• Elaborate innovative prototypes in collaboration with evaluators, sales and marketing team for pro-active presentations to customers
• Be a relay of the Application Manager and supervise applications lab assistants.
• Guide and mentor the more junior team members.
• Perform calculations such as nutritional values, sweetness equivalence, recipes ingredients cost…
• Share knowledge related to application and give technical support to the team (process, ingredient, regulation) and to customers
• Run pilot equipment such as UHT, carbonator, homogenizer, and others.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of the equipment in the lab is periodically performed.
• Sourcing new food ingredients for application and maintain database updated (stock, technical info, suppliers contacts, …).
• Ensure developments are following defined legal, ethical and customer requirements.
• Be updated with new developments in ingredients and application technologies.
• Record and update application recipes in our ERP.
• Ensure that the applications lab is kept in a safe, clean, and hygienic work condition at all times.
Requirements
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in food science or related fields.
• At least 8-10 years experience in flavors/food ingredient/food manufacturing industry.
• Excellent taste, discrimination and articulation - ingredients, flavors and applications.
• Strong project, time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
• Creative, innovative, resourceful, and able to think outside the box.
• Results-oriented, self-starter, proactive for continuous improvement and good problem-solving skills.
• Extensive hands-on experience in new product development especially in bakery, confectionery, dairy or beverages.
• Mentorship and leadership skills to supervise, support and develop junior team members.
• Very good command in English.
• Good command of MS Office.
