Market Manager / Group Account Manager
About this position
As Market Manager, you lead the growth of your customer account group. You partner with Account Managers to meet and exceed business targets. You also partner with customers to provide and manage indirect material supply chain solutions for their businesses and supply chain objectives. The opportunity involves a mix of managing the current businesses and finding new ones within your customer accounts.
Responsibilities
• Drive revenue and margin growth within your customer account group, which means meeting and exceeding all business measures such as EBIT and working capital.
• Develop and deliver Key Account Management Plans to improve short-term and long-term EBIT and working capital.
• Own, monitor and drive customer’s service agreements to meet and exceed contractual performance KPIs such as cost saving obligations.
• Be accountable for the smooth daily operations and updated selling prices associated with your customers.
• Be the ‘change agent’ who drives margin improvement projects and commercial outcomes for your customer accounts.
• Identify and secure new opportunities within your customer accounts.
• Design an effective system to ensure your team provides accurate reports on existing and new business opportunities.
• Monitor programs, analyse data and trends, hold regular service performance and business reviews, and initiate improvements for the customer accounts.
• Partner with the internal teams to ensure world class customer service is achieved and your team always represents the Vallen brand to the highest level.
• Develop and implement sales policies and procedures, define plans that close current gaps and ensure compliance.
• Create an environment that encourages and rewards teamwork and collaboration, both internally and externally.
• Build your team's capabilities.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
• Proven track record of managing key accounts, providing outstanding supply chain consultation and customer service to customers.
• Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and apply problem-solving skills.
• People management experience with demonstrated cross-group leadership.
• Ability to influence across teams, creating effective internal business partnerships.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
• Understanding of financial concepts such as EBIT and working capital.
