Crane Operator/Material Coordinator (Contractor - Offshore)
About this position
The Crane Operator/Material Coordinator is responsible for safely and efficiently lifting, moving, and managing materials and equipment on the MOPU, while also overseeing the Roustabouts and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for safety and efficiently lifting and moving/relocating equipment, containers, pipe, systems, groceries and various materials and supplies utilized in the operations and daily functions of the MOPU.
• Manage offloading and back-loading of personnel, equipment and supplies, etc. from water vessels as well as moving heavy or bulky materials throughout the vessel, various storerooms and to and from the rig floor and work area.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient work of the Roustabouts as well as for the supervision and training of the Roustabouts who provide the maintenance on the MOPU, manpower/labor for crane operations.
• Comply with Permit to Work System.
• Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
• Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the Company.
• Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by the management.
• Ensure that store room activities are carried out in a safe and prudent manner.
• Secure the store room at all times and restricts access to non-authorized personnel.
• Receive materials into the store room stock and issue parts to departments as needed.
• Liaise with MOPU OIM in the preparation of materials requisitions for all parts and equipment; focus on planning to minimize urgent orders; forward approved requisitions to the shore base office.
• Maintain accurate records of received and outstanding requisitions and cargo manifests.
• Track the progress of Purchase Orders.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of equipment spares and consumables to facilitate the continuous operation of the unit.
• Prepare periodic reports for the MOPU OIM and shore-based Operations Manager as required.
• Perform cyclical inventory of stock and maintain the physical inventory in the store room.
• Review regularly obsolete and surplus parts and advise MOPU OIM for follow up.
• Use the computerized system to maintain an accurate inventory of all materials stored on the MOPU.
• Prepare manifest for all equipment dispatched.
• Check for discrepancies in materials received against delivery notes and outward manifest and issue Report for incorrect items.
• Establishing a realistic minimum/maximum warehouse stock of all shut-down or critical items.
• Ensure that all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are correctly labelled and packaged prior to shipment ashore.
• Comply with Permit to Work System.
• Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
Requirements
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanic or related fields.
• 6-8 years or more in offshore experience specifically in operating floating vessel i.e MOPU / FSO / FPSO.
• Preferably 3-5 years experience as Crane Operator/Material Coordinator.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, both English and Thai.
• Competence at Microsoft Office.
• Good team player.
• Leadership skills.
