External communications:
• Collaborate with senior management on writing, editing, and collating comments to draft external disclosure documents, including press releases, regulatory filings, etc.
• Participate as a member of the Sustainability Reporting team in drafting sustainability-related content for annual and ad-hoc reporting.
• Prepare speeches, Q&A and briefings for management speaking engagements, interviews and articles.
• Serve as a back-up resource for the company's interaction with newswire distribution providers.
• Prepare and update company communication materials such as factsheets, brochures, website content and video scripts.
• Collaborate with the Company's global corporate communications leadership to serve as gate-keeper for external presentations and written materials (technical and otherwise), to ensure consistent corporate messaging.
Internal Communications:
• Edit articles for internal communications channels and coordinate internal approvals from corporate leadership. i.e. internal sharepoint site, employee newsletter, etc.
• Collaborate with CSR team and management to develop corporate messaging materials relating to the company's CSR activities.
• Provide support to CSR team in arrangement and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Government & Public Affairs:
• Be part of the team to assist on government, partner, and industry peer engagement programmes.
• Plan and execute corporate events, including board visits, exhibitions, and investor engagement activities.
• Support Government and Public Affairs Manager to implement regulatory advocacy.
• Prepare key messages and relevant engagement tools for external stakeholders.
Media relations:
• Conduct global media monitoring in response to Company updates and external developments (including both traditional news media and social media/online channels).
• Maintain dialogue with journalists and online publications across the Southeast Asia region and elsewhere.
• Draft backgrounders and briefing notes for journalists to provide context on company news.
Online Content Management:
• Manage content updates for the company's corporate website.
• Potentially contribute to a website re-design / re-development initiative.
• Oversee corporate social media presence, collaborate with the broader GPA team to synchronise messaging on local social media channels.
Political analysis:
• Maintain dialogue with the GPA group relating to governmental and regulatory applications and approvals.
• Prepare executive summaries of key political developments (in the Company's operating jurisdictions) as they relate to Valeura's business.
Knowledge:
• Bachelor or Master Degree in communications, business, journalism, international relations, public policy, or an oil and gas-related discipline.
• Familiarity with the upstream oil & gas business.
• Knowledge of website platforms (particularly wordpress) will be seen as an asset.
• Familiarity with the core concepts of public company corporate communications, including such matters as restrictions on selective disclosure, continuous disclosure obligations, etc.
