About this position

The Regulatory Liaison (AVP) at UOB serves as the primary contact for regulatory examinations and internal audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating collaboration across various business units.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory examinations and internal audits, especially on BOT's Market Conduct.
• Analyze and interpret feedback from regulators, collaborating with business units to ensure comprehensive responses are prepared before submitting action plans to address regulatory concerns and meet compliance requirements.
• Work closely with compliance, business units, legal, and other support teams to gather and compile necessary documentation and responses.
• Ensure the timely submission of required documents and information to regulatory authorities and internal audits, and promptly escalate any potential issues or delays to the team and senior management. Provide advisory on adequate control to BU/SUs if necessary.
• Monitor and track the progress of remediation actions to ensure timely resolution in accordance with established plans.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards for the team and senior management regarding the status of regulatory examinations and internal audits.
• Monitor the progress and timelines for the completion of corrective action plans.
• Take on additional responsibilities and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Law, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Project Management, Corporate Secretarial, or Operational Risk Management.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, Project Management, Corporate Secretarial, Operational Risk Management, or similar roles within a financial institution is preferred.
• Experience in banking business and familiarity with the BOT’s Market Conduct regulations is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements set by the BOT, particularly concerning retail banking products and processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to facilitate collaboration and build effective relationships with stakeholders across various functions.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the capability to interpret information and assess its implications for regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize effectively within time frames.
• Proven problem-solving abilities, a proactive attitude.
