Mechanical & Piping Design Engineer (Contractual)
About this position
The Mechanical & Piping Design Engineer (Contractual) position involves reviewing project requirements and specifications, preparing necessary queries, and overseeing the preparation of fabrication and erection drawings.
Responsibilities
• Review project requirements, specifications and customer’s AFC drawings and standards.
• Informs all the additional / lacking information that may be found on the drawings and documents and prepare the necessary queries.
• Assign Detail Designer to prepare fabrication / erection drawings and material take-off / Guides and gives instruction to Detail Designer the proper approach in preparation of these drawings.
• Monitor and control the receipt and issuance of project documents such as fabrication / erection drawings, packing list, B.O.M., etc. by updating the document / Drawing Register. (Document control)
• Checks fabrication and erection drawings and material take-off in accordance with the established Quality procedure of the company and customer’s specifications.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture / Marine Engineering / Mechanical or related filed.
• At least five (3) year experience as design engineer or relevant experience.
• Good English language knowledge to write procedure, understand specs and drawings.
