About this position

The Electrical & Instrument Engineer is responsible for overseeing the performance of Foremen and Electricians, ensuring compliance with company policies, and managing electrical material standards in ship repair and marine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Foremen & Electricians of the section/group under his control know their functions responsibilities and what performance output is expected of them.
• Close supervision of the work produced by subordinates, screening and reviewing thoroughly with subordinates as necessary.
• Ensure that adequate electrical material standard check exist so as to verify the correct specification of the products been purchased and delivered for the repair job-project to reduce the risk of non-conformity.
• Liaise with vessel designated Ship Manager-in charge and co-ordinate with inter-track repair-departments for proper execution of sequential multi-trade repair job.
• Acknowledge and understand the policy, objective and target that the company issue, and have to perform follow this system to achieve the specific policy.
• Strictly abide by any procedures and any work instruction concerned.
• To suggest to improve the procedures or work instructions properly.
• Monitoring and preventive the effect of working to environment.
• To reduce the environmental impact which caused by the working activities.
• Prepare the procedure or work instruction as the case may be.
• Provide the training course about the procedures or work instructions to the concerned staff to understand and take action.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree of Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in Ship repair on Electrical and Instrumentation Systems.
• Team Leader.
• Ability to communicate in English.
