Laboratory Technician
About this position
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for ensuring accurate analysis of products to meet customer specifications and improve analytical techniques while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Responsibilities
• Analysis to the highest possible level of accuracy, to ensure that only product meeting the customer specification is released within an acceptable time frame.
• To improve and demonstrate their analytical technique to be able to meet internal and customer demands in terms of quality of work and turnaround time.
• Individual QC results to consistently be within defined tolerance levels.
• Individual productivity is measured and reported (as number of analyses completed and turnaround time). These should be consistently maintained within defined tolerance levels.
1.Prepare samples;
- ICP, Gravimetric, Cl, Solubility - weigh, digest & make-up sample
- TGA – weigh sample
- XRF/Sample Prep – crush, mill, blend powders; press pellets
- Activity/BET/Adhesion - cut & age cores, powders or parts
2. Measure samples;
• run samples on correct equipment using correct standards, calibrations and/or settings.
3. To perform as the system requirement or the assignment of line manager in order to fulfill the requirement of all management system such as IATF16949, ISO14001 or other management system that will be applied in the future.
Requirements
• Required High vocational certificate of chemical technology, Petrochemical, or related fields of study or equivalent combination of education and experience and graduate of Bachelor Degree in related fields.
• Experience in work with chemical substances.
• Experience in a Laboratory will be advantageous but is a necessity for the ICP/Grave/CI section.
