Purchasing Supervisor
About this position
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for optimizing purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and collaborating with various departments to meet the company's purchasing needs.
Responsibilities
• Find the best supplier by evaluating them on multiple criteria, for instance, price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and delivery performance to ensure that the selection is of the best choice of the Company and is able to support the Company advantages.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing activities, ensure transparency of the purchasing process and achieve cost savings while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contractual agreement.
• Collaborate with concern departments to understand their purchasing needs, forecast demand, and develop procurement plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the procurement process.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procurement policies, such as ethical sourcing, sustainability and diversity initiatives.
• Stay current on any changes of both domestic and overseas in either the supply of or demand for needed products and materials to ensure the Company's competitiveness.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and product specifications to identify opportunities for cost savings improvements.
• Ensure purchased order that no unauthorized spending is happening in the company.
• Monitor the Company cost competitiveness in comparison with the market to ensure the effective cost control, and provide appropriate action when needed under the supervision of Purchasing Head Department.
• Assess a supplier’s production and distribution capabilities, and discuss other relevant considerations to find the best goods or services suppliers, as well as to negotiate prices at the lowest possible purchase cost.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Administration, Food Science, Biotechnology or related fields.
• 2 years of experience in purchasing function at any type of business.
• Proficient in English language (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Knowledge in SAP system.
