SQE Engineer
About this position
As the SQE Mechanical Engineer, your primary expertise will be in castings, machining & injection molding including surface treatment processes. You'll play a key role in new supplier development, new part introduction, monitoring & improving the incoming quality of the ongoing production materials to Trimble & Contract Manufacturing (CM).
Responsibilities
• Lead the execution of Trimble’s Supplier Quality Requirements (SQR) to ensure that all supplier shipments are in 100% compliance to Trimble Specifications
• Perform supplier process audits and present findings
• Contribute to the evaluation of potential new suppliers, prepare them for the Trimble production requirements via the NSI process
• Lead NPI - provide recommendations in the manufacturing feasibility review
• Drive the resolution & closure of quality issues with suppliers via the 8D/CAPA/SCAR processes
• Contribute to the evaluation of key suppliers within assignment via the QDRC process
• Monitor supplier performance, initiate and implement improvement plans when required for underperforming suppliers
• Support component-related quality issues reported at CM in Thailand and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to drive swift resolution
Requirements
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineer
• Experience and knowledge of industry standards for Casting, Machining & Injection Molding Technologies
• ISO Certified Auditor
• Experience in using inspection tooling and gages
• Working knowledge of DFM and new product development processes
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering
• Software that we use - Microsoft Office, Oracle, DOMO, Smartsheets, QI Macros
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
• A deep understanding of the new product development (NPI) process and ability to assist the development teams during production release with DFM facilitation, PFMEA and Process Control Plan confirmation. Hands-on experience in Measurement System Analysis (MSA) including Gage R&R and selection of appropriate measurement technique / instruments.
