Safety Officer
About this position
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment through various assessments, training, and collaboration with different departments.
Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with safety, occupational health, and environmental laws and regulations in the workplace.
• Analyze work processes to identify hazards and propose preventive measures and safe work procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments in occupational health, safety, and environmental aspects of the workplace.
• Review and analyze plans, projects, and proposals from various departments to recommend safety measures.
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of safety plans, programs, or measures within the workplace.
• Advise employees on complying with safety rules, manuals, and guidelines in occupational health, safety, and the work environment.
• Investigate and analyze accidents, injuries, or work-related illnesses to identify causes and recommend preventive measures to the employer.
• Collect statistics, analyze data, and prepare reports and recommendations related to workplace incidents or accidents.
• Provide guidance, training, and instill safety awareness among employees.
• Prepare documentation related to workplace safety operations, inspections, and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Report safety performance and related issues to Safety Supervisor.
• Educate and train on waste management in factories, especially the handling, segregation, and disposal of hazardous waste following standards and relevant regulation.
• Collaborate with various departments to improve the working environment and implement accident prevention measures.
• Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in improving safety measures and waste management in factories.
• Experience in implementing or maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, BRC Food safety.
• Certified Professional Safety Officer.
• Radiation Safety Officer Certification (is advantage).
• Certification for handling hazardous substances (is advantage).
