In 1964, cars manufacturing plant under brand “TOYOTA” was firstly built in Thailand. With response from customers, TOYOTA expanded production capacity by setting up new plant in Samrong (1969), Gateway (1997), and Ban Pho (2007). Until 2010, TOYOTA had moved its production To Ban Pho, to combined volume production of TAW and Ban Pho plant, that caused temporarily suspended TAW operation during 2010 until 2012. In 2012, TAW plant was re-opened in the name of TOYOTA AUTO WORKS, cooperated by TOYOTA AUTO BODY (JAPAN) and TOYOTA MOTOR THAILAND, producing Hiace Commuter which has gained the first place of Commercial Vehicle market in Thailand.
