Manufacturing Engineering Manager
About this position
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager provides leadership to the manufacturing engineering and maintenance departments to effectively support production activities, drive productivity, ensure safety facilities and operations, minimize equipment downtime and realize cost reductions.
Responsibilities
• Develops, implements and improves department processes
• Provides people leadership to team members, setting goals, providing coaching and feedback, etc.
• Leads the manufacturing engineering team to provide timely and effective support to production.
• Ensures processes are designed to support safety working conditions
• Guides team to enhance first pass yield and address quality issues through failure analysis of defects, root cause determination, and corrective / preventative actions.
• Partner with Quality, production and materials for CAR and RMA’s
• Ensures process controls are in place including process specifications, routings and their update / maintenance
• Fosters a continuous improvement mindset drive improvements including coordinating with product engineering teams on new product designs, VAVE changes, production solutions, performance engineering tests to improve production processes, and designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment & machinery
• Responsible for continuous improvement of the production line including opportunities for automation
• Leads team to participate in cost reduction activities
• Engages in the new product development process such as providing support for required product samples and New Product Introduction, testing new systems for efficiency and safety and repairing / redesigning malfunctioning equipment, etc.
• Responsible for ensuring maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities occur in a timely and cost effective manner.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree
• 6 years of experience in supervisory or engineering support in product management
• Can use English as the daily working language.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong people leadership skills.
