About this position
The Account Manager (AM) is a key commercial role within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) at Thermo Fisher Scientific, focusing on managing direct customer relationships and channel partners to ensure successful business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Must establish strong relationships with direct customers and actively engage key buying influencers to enhance sales effectiveness
• Inspire and guide both internal teams and external partners, with a strong focus on fostering teamwork and driving the achievement of shared sales goals
• Able to identify and prioritize new client opportunities while developing solution implementation and growth strategies
• Actively cultivate and develop channel partnerships, implementing strategies that increase partner success and growth.
• Prospect for new business, qualify sales leads, and generate a strong opportunity funnel. Continually advance opportunities to close business.
• Provide accurate booking forecasts and reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Uses internal sales tools to effectively handle leads, prospects, existing accounts, activities, and sales funnel in an accurate and timely manner.
• Lead product issues in the field by liaising with the Account service group and application engineers for solutions.
• Lead User Group activity by product as the need arises.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
• 5+ years of proven sales experience in analytical instrument markets, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Bachelor's Degree in physical or life sciences, material sciences, or engineering
• Ability to explain and sell the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Materials & Structural Analysis product portfolio.
• Strong market knowledge and professional network.
• Excellent communication, well developed interpersonal skills to a diverse audience is critical to the success of this position.
• Detailed problem solving by working with customers and account team
• Experience managing channel partners preferred.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in matrix environments.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office, CRM.
• Ability to travel to customer locations up to 40%, including overnight travel.
