About this position

The Operations Manager for the Starch Business is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with standards while contributing to strategic planning for company growth.

Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Plan, manage, and monitor daily operations to ensure performance aligns with company goals and targets.
• Process Improvement: Drive process improvement and development initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
• Team Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and develop staff across various starch production facilities to ensure effective performance and professional growth.
• Performance Tracking: Track operational performance and identify areas for improvement to achieve optimal results.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze operational data and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
• Budget and Cost Management: Manage budgets and control costs to optimize resource utilization across starch operations.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards while identifying and mitigating risks to business operations.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to medium- and long-term strategic planning to support company growth and sustainability goals.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the starch or food manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of managing multi-site operations and leading cross-functional teams.
• Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Expertise in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Knowledge of legal, safety, and quality compliance requirements in manufacturing operations.
• Personal Attributes: Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and focus on operational efficiency.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align operational objectives with company goals.
• Other Requirements: Ability to travel across multiple factory locations as required.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
