Packaging Development Scientist (Global Innovation Center)
About this position
Manage and executes Global Packaging/Product Innovation projects for both new concepts and/or that can generate savings or improve manufacturing efficiency. Maintains strong network based internal and external through continuous collaboration and a reliable source of technical information related to any Packaging Material Science/Engineering Design.
Responsibilities
• Work with Marketing/Brand to translate product/packaging concepts into technically feasible and consumer-relevant products using information from various products and or consumer testing.
• Applies new packaging techniques/technologies and work with cross functional team to deliver new products portfolio to achieve business objectives.
• Deploy new science & technology-feasible product/packaging innovation concept and work with upstream/downstream development function to deliver new products/packaging with appropriate consumer acceptance.
• Provide expertise and being consulted by cross-functional teams such as TD, manufacturing, marketing, purchasing and etc. in any field of material science, structural design, and even packaging testing/analysis that resulted to positive benefit to the projects or even the business.
• Demonstrates ability to scale up new product/packaging in any existing or newly set-up TU Manufacturing site/line through performing industrial trial runs in collaboration with Operations and Quality to test and transition into full commercialization scale.
• Delivers all product/packaging development projects within timeline and budget.
• Delivers all product/packaging development projects that helps the company achieve the defined sustainability goals /KPI’s.
• Manage packaging prototyping at lab scale, develop and document new material specification and process.
• Consulted and provide relevant information related to new equipment requirement and manufacturing processes for new packaging/products.
• Conducts career dialogues, Identifies career plans and developmental opportunities for his/her subordinates.
• Work and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners such as vendors, universities, research agencies, leading technology forum and etc. to maintain strong-based network and acquires product/packaging latest trends or technologies.
• Support the development of the technology guideline as part of stakeholder education to support roll out programs under innovation center.
• Support any successful implantation of innovation center programs.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in the Packaging Technology or Engineering, Food technology or other relevant technical areas with the commercial background.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in packaging development, previous background in applying innovation and technologies related to product/packaging development projects would be a must.
• Experience in project management.
• Good command of English / Familiar with international work environment.
