About this position

The Deputy General Manager - Group Strategy (Focused on M&A) is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership in the corporate strategy and M&A process, leading investment activities, and collaborating with executives to identify potential acquisition targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and leadership in the corporate strategy / M&A process as well as lead strategic and business planning efforts in line with Thai Union Group guidelines.
• Serve as a thought partner and program manager to Thai Union’s management team, Business Units and key stakeholders for all M&A related matters.
• Lead investment process.
• Co-lead large-scale as well as business performance improvement projects where applicable.
• Direct corporate priorities and oversee any ad hoc requests relevant to the Group Strategy office.
• Lead collaboration with executives and Business Unit leaders to identify and assess potential acquisition targets aligned with the Corporate and Business Unit strategy.
• Spearhead the development and presentation of detailed investment proposals, integrating financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic fit analysis, to the investment committee and stakeholders.
• Lead all investment activities (M&A, Corporate VC fund, Partnerships) of Thai Union Group from shaping strategic rationale, to conducting due diligence and post-merger integration.
• Manage negotiations, deal structuring, and execution of transactions ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Oversee the strategic execution of post-merger synergy.

Requirements

• Outstanding academic achievement.
• At least 10 - 15 years of experience in investing (investment banking, private equity) and strategy with a focus on active deal M&A.
• Experience with top-tier management consulting and/or investment banking firms is an advantage.
• Relevant industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated strong leadership and inter-personal skills.
• Proven track record of stepping in and stepping up.
