Procurement Specialist (Indirect Materials)
About this position
Responsibilities
• Responsible for local indirect procurement strategic plan and support the regional procurement operations and aggressively seek opportunities for cost containment, standardization, and improvement.
• Create and execute new improved procurement strategies for indirect materials for the company aiming at cost saving / optimization, quality assurance and service level. Ensures that indirect materials are delivered in a timely manner, and that the quality of the goods received is satisfactory.
• Promote a 'right-first-time' approach, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and company policies.
• Mitigate supply chain risks by following procurement policies, maintaining EHSS standards, and upholding ethical standards with service providers and partners.
• Researching and identifying prospective suppliers. Compares prices and other service aspects amongst various vendors in order to make sound purchasing decisions.
• Benchmark with market and finding the way to introduce new technologies to support product development, sustainable development or cost saving target.
• Align internal requirements with external market conditions and suppliers to ensure agile responses.
• Ensure adherence to procurement processes and facilitate knowledge sharing among stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance with stakeholders, segment the supplier base, and review supplier KPIs regularly to meet expectations and deliver value.
• Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to develop strategies, contracts, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives for the supply chain.
• Identify value creation opportunities beyond the immediate procurement category.
• Support the tendering process by helping stakeholders set realistic and ambitious target rates.
• Assist stakeholders in resolving invoice rate disputes with vendors.
• Any other adhoc tasks or assignments.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement of indirect materials and OEM goods for industrial factories.
• Prior experience managing indirect categories such as Marketing, HR, IT, Finance etc.
• Experience working in a regional or global procurement role within the FMCG/ Consumer Healthcare or Pharmaceutical industry will be highly preferred.
• Proficiency in procurement software and data analytics tools (e.g. SAP, Coupa, Tableau, PowerBI and advanced MS Excel).
• Good logical thinking, leadership and strategy planning skills.
• Ability to analyse data and problem-solve.
• Strong negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management skills.
