Procurement Engineer
About this position
Responsibilities
• Develop project procurement plan/ strategy/ procedure/ approved supplier list along with project engineer in line with the overall project requirement.
• Conduct objective evaluation of local and international suppliers, international sourcing of materials required for the projects.
• Assist Procurement Engineer/ Procurement Officer to finalization of terms and conditions of purchasing contracts.
• Implement and drive the project procurement strategies in order to meet cost saving targets of the target.
• Review and manage the supplier base to ensure consistency of the sourcing strategy to the project.
• Perform regular supplier performance review of the project to drive continuous improvement to meet the project requirement.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials/ supply of required quality to the project within specified budgets.
• Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions of project.
• End to end monitoring and control of complete project supply chain, including expediting and close outs of all project purchase orders.
• Interact regularly with Engineering, Project, and Finance team to understand the technical and financial aspects of the project and to ensure identification of appropriate sources of material and supply.
• Risk management pertaining to project procurement and ensure compliance to various procedures/ policy guidelines/ code of business conduct/ etc.
• Provide supervisory assistant to his/her Procurement Engineer/ Procurement Officer on multiple functions of Buying, Expediting, and Logistics.
Requirements
• Engineering degree or relevant
• 1-2 years’ experience in Petrochemical / Oil and Gas Industries
• Knowledge on Ethical Behaviour and Code of Conduct for Procurement
• Knowledge to related international manufacturers/ suppliers, markets, pricing, and market dynamics/ trends
• Knowledge of Supply, Contract, and Materials Management
• Knowledge of legal, commercial, and contractual aspect of procurement such as Incoterms, trade barriers, terms & conditions of sales and purchase, etc.
• Good command in English
