About this position

The Product Developer (Textile / Garment) is responsible for collaborating with designers to create new fabrics and products, ensuring they meet standards and timelines while translating conceptual needs into marketable items.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Designers to develop new fabrics and products, meeting standard and timeline requirements including translating conceptual needs into marketable fabrics and decorations that meet costing requirements.
• Define product details and size specifications for product prototypes in the product design sheet in collaboration with designers and provide guidance for creating product prototypes to suppliers.
• Responsible for and conduct technical inspections during fittings with designers, buyers, and suppliers, provide comments, approve sample tags, checklists, and size specifications from fittings, and report the results.
• Communicate development specifications to merchandising team according to price and needs of product development to maximize sourcing efficiency.
• Facilitates and maintains fabric testing performance, in conjunction with QC, to meet standard requirements in development that are relevant to the end product consumer use and industry standard.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Textile and Fashion Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experiences in Textile, Fabric, Clothing, or Apparel is a must.
• Must be able to provide technical expertise of Textile, fabric and decoration.
• Ability to translate product and design specifications to production processes.
• Understanding and providing constructive feedback in rapid manufacturing environment.
• Result-orientation and strong communication skills.
• Excellent English proficiency.
• Good team player and collaborative mindset with initiatives.
• Systematic way of work and ability to work under pressure.
• Good project management skills.
