About this position

The Piping Designer SmartPlant 3D position is a 1-year renewable contract based in Map Ta Phut, Rayong, focusing on the design and management of piping systems using SmartPlant 3D.

Responsibilities

• Design new piping systems in S3D as requested by Project/Piping Engineer, including routing, supports, and associated components.
• Ensure all 3D piping models are up to date and ready for use in Projects.
• Generate piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and detailed drawings from S3D, checking for correctness and adjusting as needed.
• Design pipe supports and ensure proper integration with structural elements.
• Conduct clash detection and resolution for piping with other disciplines (e.g., equipment, structural, electrical, instrumentation).
• Report on work status, problem areas, and needs.
• File and maintain project records (engineering sketches, layouts, studies, etc.) related to piping design.
• Manage deliverables issue and transmittal records for piping-related documents.
• Attend project model review meetings.
• Interface with other disciplines as required, especially Process, Equipment, Structural, and Instrumentation.
• Conduct site surveys and field verifications (if necessary).
• Update as-built documentation for piping systems.

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or other related discipline with experiences in chemical or process industry projects;
• Experience in:
• Design of 3D model piping and equipment at least 5 years.
• Design and plant layout at least 10 years.
• SmartPlant3D tool as piping designer at least 5 years.
• Have good background engineering document.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline project design, and to provide piping layout for control stations, pumps, exchangers, drums, and vessels, etc.
• Strong piping design knowledge of major equipment and structures,
• Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office, S3D tool, Navisworks etc.
