Purchasing Manager
About this position
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring timely supply of raw materials, and driving cost reduction initiatives while maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
• Working together with planner and factory operation to support raw material on time
• Develop cost reduction of raw material with relevant department by using appropriate techniques such as alternate specification or combine volume
• Understand resin price trend and able to manage to minimize cost impact
• Focus on reducing single source parts by finding more alternate source to minimize supply risk
• Periodic analysis on actual performance versus KPIs target
• Motivate, coach, and drive team to achieve not only existing KPIs but also the annual SCM budget
• Always protect company's interest, asset, and IP rights
• Be role model of ownership and encourage others to take ownership
• Ensure discipline and company policy are strictly adhered to by everyone in the entire organization
• Enforce and execute disciplinary actions for anyone who is found to have bad conduct
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain or related field
• At least 10 years working experience in supply chain function in the manufacturing industry plus with strong knowledge of purchasing in plastic industry.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team; excellent negotiation, excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Responsible, result-oriented, integrity, punctual, proactive and team player
• Open-mind, fast learner and positive attitude
• Good computer skills (advance in ERP system and Excel)
• Good command of writing and spoken English
