Senior Quality Process Engineer
About this position
Sonoco is seeking a Senior Quality Process Engineer to ensure food safety compliance, quality standards, and continuous improvement in their new plant in Thailand. The role involves collaboration with various teams to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Adherence to all applicable food safety standards and guidelines is a fundamental aspect of our operations.
• Responsible on reporting of any incidents related to food safety to superiors, ensuring swift and effective response mechanisms are in place.
• Work closely with production teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of quality processes into the overall manufacturing workflow.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs to address and resolve quality-related issues.
• Design and implement quality control systems to monitor and maintain product quality throughout the production process.
• Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials.
• Establish and enforce quality standards, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by initiating and leading projects aimed at enhancing overall process efficiency and product quality.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies to implement innovative solutions.
• Investigate and analyse production issues or defects to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide training to production personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Foster a culture of quality consciousness and responsibility among team members.
• Conduct internal and external audits to assess adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities during external inspections.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree or certification in quality management is a plus especially in FSSC22000 certification.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and quality management systems.
• With analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
