About this position

The Safety position involves managing safety reports, leading safety activities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety reports for both government submissions and Sonoco’s INTELEX system.
• Lead safety activities like Gemba walks, STOP, Safety Week, and regular safety meetings.
• Inspect workplace safety, provide recommendations for legal compliance, and assess risks.
• Collaborate with departments to achieve safety objectives and follow up on safety issues.
• Ensure workplace operations align with safety plans and measures.
• Advise employees on safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect working conditions, work with relevant agencies for certification, and review inspection reports.
• Recommend improvements for ongoing safety management.
• Investigate accidents or illnesses, report findings, and suggest resolutions.
• Compile and analyze safety statistics, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Develop and execute comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Issue safety bulletins, notices, and reports to communicate safety program updates and best practices.

Requirements

• At least 1-5 years in Safety officer.
• Excellent communicator able to get on with individuals at different levels in the organization; International orientation and multicultural understanding.
• Excellent organizational skills and Team player.
• Good communication in English and presentation skills and able to communicate at all levels.
