About this position

The Engineering Manager (Shipbuilding) will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all engineering activities related to the design and construction of newbuild LNG tankers. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage the technical interface between stakeholders, lead project execution plans, conduct design reviews, oversee procurement processes, and provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all engineering activities related to the design and construction of newbuild LNG tankers, ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine the FEED package, including vessel specifications, general arrangement, and key systems designs.
• Manage the technical interface between the shipyard, classification society, and project stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of project execution plans, schedules, and budgets for both FEED and EPCI phases.
• Conduct regular design reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the procurement process for long-lead items and critical equipment, ensuring timely delivery and integration into the construction schedule.
• Manage and coordinate construction activities at the shipyard, including quality control, testing, and commissioning of LNG tanker systems.
• Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support during both FEED and EPCI phases, addressing engineering challenges and optimizing designs for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Naval / Marine Technical Engineering (Ship Building)
• Minimum 5 years experiences in related field preferably in the same position
• Have familiarity with ship design, constructions, and project overview
• Ability to formulate and implement technical services and forecast with strategic and technical planning
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, management and communication skills
