IT Engineer
About this position
Responsibilities
• Serve as Lead Engineer for IT equipment and software during shifts.
• Manage application servers, data centers, and the baggage handling systems network.
• Ensure the upkeep of IT infrastructure across the entire baggage handling systems.
• Monitor and inspect the operational status of servers and workstations, ensuring both software and hardware components function smoothly.
• Support customers during live operations in all IT-related matters, proactively preventing IT issues and diagnosing any problems that arise during operation.
• Configure and adapt existing control software as needed after customer approved.
• Diagnose and resolve first-level IT system, Network and/or software issues, escalating when necessary.
• Consistently monitor SLAs and implement necessary measures.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts within the project scope.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on industrial control system servers, related system, and IT components.
• Conduct data backups, including operational data, program configurations, log files, and other critical information as assigned by the manager.
• Report issues, analyze root causes, and take corrective actions within the scope of responsibilities while preparing performance reports for the manager.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Application or other related field.
• Proficient in Oracle or SQL Server databases (relational database model) with the ability to write database statements and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server and Client environments.
• Experience in baggage or material handling systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with standard operating and maintenance procedures.
• Experience as a Server System Administrator is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications (MCP, CCNA, CCP) are an advantage.
• High sense of responsibility and team spirit.
• Willingness to learn and transfer knowledge from our headquarter to the local team.
• Strong analytical skills, complex problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good command of both written and spoken English.
• Able to work shifts.
