SGT-800 Quality Inspector (Gas turbine)
About this position
Perform nondestructive testing and borescope/visual inspection of Siemens Energy Gas Turbines and related equipment in close collaboration with other service activities such as commissioning and erection.
Responsibilities
• Perform quality assured inspections on Gas Turbines SGT-800 according to the preventive maintenance program and the information by the project teams.
• Provide recommendations on turbine conditions, overhaul plans and preventive maintenance schedules according to the service program.
• Monitor the inspection procedures and provide accurate instructions for vital repairs.
• Accountable for effective document management processes.
• Record and report malfunctioning equipment and technical inquiries through the SFDC system.
• Provide technical support and respond to client queries.
• Respond to request for clarifications and provide end-to-end collaborating with the relevant parties on i.e. engine condition, failure analysis and root cause analysis.
• Participate in internal meetings with local/overseas application engineers and provide information concerning inspection results and necessary recommendations.
• Provide feedback concerning product technical information to internal and external partners.
• Report daily/weekly work progress to the site leader and internal partners.
• Participate and assist in vital training and courses as a mentor for new inspectors.
• Perform NDT testing such as Eddy current, Magnetic particle, Liquid and Dye Penetrant testing.
• Perform borescope inspection of turbines and compressors.
• Abide and adhere to a high standard of business ethics and maintain exemplary conduct according to Siemens' Business Conduct Guidelines and all Compliance Guidelines, Policies, Procedures and Requirements.
• Domestic and international traveling 200 days per year.
• The role provides exposure to traditional as well as sophisticated technologies in power generation with one of the leading Energy Technology Companies of the world.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field.
• Experience of field service jobs, quality inspector, commissioning or related roles within the industrial equipment or energy industry.
• Knowledge of Gas turbines or rotating equipment with associated field service requirements is advantages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and drive concrete insights.
• Strong English proficiency in both spoken and written.
• Strong with MS suite.
• Inter/Intrapersonal, Leadership and Presentation skills.
