Merchandise Manager - House Brand
About this position
The Merchandise Manager - House Brand is responsible for conducting market research, developing Makro's Own Brand products, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring product quality meets standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify products for Makro's Own Brand
• Provide feedback on market information, competition, projects, sales, and profits to management
• Work with branded team to review assortment and plan Own Brand NPD
• Coordinate with Directors, Buyers, and Suppliers to develop sellable Own Brand products
• Launch new Own Brand items on time and within budget
• Maintain good relationships with reliable suppliers
• Ensure product quality matches or exceeds branded benchmarks
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations
• Collaborate on Makro Mail Program and store promotions
• Conduct store visits to address operational issues and product quality
• Travel when necessary to visit suppliers and producers
• Ensure agreements with suppliers are upheld
• Work with QA team to test new products and ensure quality standards
• Develop launch activities in stores to drive sales
• Identify reasons for sales shortfalls and plan recovery actions
• Perform any other tasks as required by management
