Application Manager
About this position
The Application Manager is responsible for leading a team of application engineers, developing solutions, managing commercial aspects, and driving strategic initiatives to promote flow metering solutions and ensure project success.
Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and manage a team of application engineers, assigning tasks, providing coaching and mentorship, and monitoring performance to cultivate a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Solution Development & Proposal Creation: Develop and deliver compelling technical and commercial proposals in response to customer inquiries, translating client needs into feasible and attractive solutions.
• Commercial Management: Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual terms throughout the inquiry-to-order process, mitigating risks and ensuring project profitability.
• Market Insight & Strategic Planning: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities, inform strategic decision-making, and drive growth within the flow metering and related service segments.
• Solution Promotion & Advocacy: Prepare and deliver effective presentations internally and externally to promote flow metering solutions, secure project approvals, and generate client interest.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations) to ensure seamless project execution, address customer requirements, and deliver high levels of satisfaction.
• Technical Expertise & Optimization: Review and influence customer specifications to optimize solutions, ensuring technical feasibility, alignment with industry standards, and project profitability.
• Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in flow metering and related fields, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of effective application engineering processes for continuous improvement, streamlining workflows and enhancing project delivery.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Instrumentation, or Industrial), MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical sales or application engineering role within the industrial services sector.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role managing a team of application engineers.
• Experience with industrial service offerings and project execution processes within the flow metering and related segments.
• Understanding of commercial pricing and negotiation strategies.
