AVP of Legal & Corporate Strategy
About this position
Responsibilities
• Lead relationships with potential investors (PE/VC/Family Offices, etc.), external advisors, government bodies / regulators, and external parties
• Strong networking skill and highly connected within the investor community (PE/VC/Family Offices, etc.), regulators, etc.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance on various transactional matters, including M&A, joint ventures, investments, fund-raising, and other corporate transactions.
• Advise on general corporate commercial matters, including drafting and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
• Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for potential transactions, identifying legal issues and proposing strategic solutions.
• Provide legal representation and assist Seven Retail Group (and affiliates) in litigation matters including arbitration or mediation
• Stay abreast of legal developments, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact the business, and provide proactive advice and recommendations
• Liaising and coordinating with other departments/functions within the Company’s organization to ensure proper and timely execution of deals and corporate actions from a business and commercial perspective
• Lead complex legal projects that span legal, business, and functional boundaries (e.g., cross geographies in SEA, subject matter areas, jurisdictions, organizations and business models).
Requirements
• Should have at least a bachelor’s degree in law and advocate license. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Should have at least of 5 years in a reputable law firm/company, with a focus on corporate law and transactional matters
• Strong experience in advising on M&A, joint ventures, investments, fundraising, IPO, and other transactional matters.
• Accomplished negotiator with proven track record in successfully managing, lobbying, and negotiating with external stakeholders (including regulators, government agencies, vendors, investors, etc.).
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact professionally with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Solid understanding of general corporate commercial issues and the ability to provide pragmatic legal solutions.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Able to work independently.
• Familiar with Indonesian education & healthcare related laws and regulations will be a plus.
