About this position

Seagate is seeking a PE / Sr. Product Engineer for the Korat Plant, focusing on managing product yield, quality, and technical support. New graduates with a PhD are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Using programming skill, data analysis skill and/or engineering skill to help analysis data, create project and application that support collaborating tasks with Design Center Engineers and Reliability Team to solving Hard Disc Drive (HDD) problems, improving product quality, yield and test-time.
• Assist and/or initiate to any drive’s test process, generate process improvements ideas and actively participate in design concepts.
• Provide direct on-site collaborate with manufacturing operations, function engineers, reliability team, and design centers.
• Perform data analysis, mechanical and electrical failure analysis (MFA, EFA) by using Seagate’s HDD tools, Matlab and computer programing (C and Python) in order to finding the root-cause, understand the problems and/or new design such as changes in mechanical and electrical component.
• Monitor the product performance, yield and quality focusing on related field of Drive Servo function.
• Handle yield and testing time improvement to make sure meet product matric or over budget without quality issue.
• Able to identify root cause of failure and how to fix the issue both yield improvement and excursion time.
• Provide technical support and create risk assessment for any product issue (including material excursion).
• Contact and discussion with counterpart when product has the problem.
• Lead the customer requirement by conducting meeting with internal and external team to identify issues, determine the root cause, drive corrective action process and obtain corrective action via engineering or factory personnel.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards.
• Be assigned on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute towards team, department and company goals.

Requirements

• Strong Background in Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Self-motivated, responsible, clear communication skills, and good in logical thinking.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Good English communication skill, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, and control system are preferred, but not all required.
• Familiarity with machine elements such as electrical controls, AC/DC motors.
