Indirect Material Buyer
About this position
Indirect Material Procurements is responsible for the procurement of indirect material including but not limit; spare parts, production supply, packaging, facility supplies related, tooling/ fabrication, services for factory. This role involves budget planning, supplier management, and inventory control to support the operational needs.
Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate suppliers for Indirect materials.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Plan and schedule materials based on Master Schedule.
• Processes Request for Quotation for competitive bidding,
• Complete cost analysis and award bids.
• Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Develop and manage the purchasing budget.
• Monitor spending and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Prepare forecasts related to purchasing activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Suppliers’ performance evaluations.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers promptly.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs.
• Implement inventory management best practices to minimize costs and waste.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
• Coordinates purchasing activities with operation, facility, engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to improve procurement processes and systems.
• Participate office Lean team and develop work per Lean concept.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skill.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Strong understanding of commercial terms.
• Strong financial, business, and legal acumen.
• Good computer skills (SAP ERP, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint) is a must.
• Good data analytic and data science skills (Excel, Knime, Alteryx, Power BI, Python) is preferable.
• Relevant experience preferred.
• Purchasing and Supplier Management.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
