Accountant I (Fixed Assets)
About this position
The Accountant I (Fixed Assets) position involves managing and updating fixed asset transactions, ensuring accurate accounting records, and supporting audit processes within the organization.
Responsibilities
• Manage, update receiving transaction and work with capital owner in asset addition and adjustment via Seagate web-based Capital Tracking System and dispose asset via Seagate Asset Management System before interface to SAP ERP
• Assign tag numbers to fixed assets and record asset impairment
• Obtain information from internal and external sources to record accounting transactions in the general ledger for all PP&E accounts
• Reconcile the PP&E balance in the fixed asset register against General Ledger
• Analyze account balances and is responsible for properly supported account reconciliations on monthly analysis reporting
• Prepare Fixed A schedules report monthly, quarterly and yearly
• Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls
• Be responsible for accuracy and timeliness of transactions in the sub-ledger and general ledger accounts
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries
• Feedback and resolve internal and external customer (local site finance, engineer, other Global Finance Share Service team, etc.) inquiries, including audit inquiries from internal and external auditors
