About this position

As an R&D Assistant specializing in function gummy at SAND-M Global, you will play a crucial role in the research, development, and optimization of innovative gummy formulations that deliver both taste and health benefits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify new functional ingredients, flavors, and textures for gummy products that align with health and wellness trends.
• Develop and refine gummy formulations to meet desired taste, texture, stability, and nutritional criteria.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, production, quality) to ensure product development aligns with consumer preferences, health claims, and production capabilities.
• Perform laboratory experiments to evaluate the properties, performance, and nutritional content of gummy formulations.
• Analyze test results and provide data-driven recommendations for product improvement and health benefit optimization.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments and findings.
• Assist in scaling up gummy formulations from lab scale to production scale while maintaining desired product attributes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to health regulations.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing research findings, experimental data, formulation details, and nutritional information.
• Maintain organized documentation of recipes, procedures, specifications, and health claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Food Engineer.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in confectionery or health food product development, specifically with gummy candies.
• Demonstrated experience working in both laboratory and production environments.
• Strong understanding of gummy formulation principles, ingredients, processing techniques, and nutritional considerations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Passion for health and wellness, with a strong interest in functional foods and innovative product development.
