About this position

The Legal Team is an individual contributor responsible for the end-to-end management of the Company's legal and compliance function. The Legal Counsel will assist the Head of Compliance in handling all legal and compliance matters, providing relevant and commercial legal advice to stakeholders and employees on legal matters affecting its operations.

Responsibilities

The role and responsibilities can be divided into three main categories:
• Advice to the business on a broad range of laws, including general corporate and commercial, employment, company secretary, competition, intellectual property, privacy, anti-corruption, and consumer protection;
• Draft, review, negotiate commercial agreements including all relevant trade terms, etc.;
• Review marketing materials and advertisements (online, offline, etc.);
• Manage any ad hoc projects being instructed by the business units.

Litigation Management
• Pre-litigation involvement:
• Coordinate with the management of the background and issues regarding the dispute and advise the suitable course of action;
• Coordinating, leading, managing, monitoring with external counsels; and
• Attending court procedures if required

Compliance Management
• Management of the Company's compliance program including:
• Update and implement business policies to ensure compliance with Thai laws.

Requirements

• Law Degree, Master Degree preferred
• Lawyer license required
• At least 5 years post-qualified experience (PQE).
• At least 7 years working experience in a law firm or FMCG environment preferred
• Strong background on laws related to a trading company.
• Familiarity with general corporate and commercial laws, employment, competition, intellectual property, privacy, litigation, anti-corruption, and consumer protection.
