Government Relations Manager
About this position
The Government Relations Manager will interact with government entities and agencies to represent and protect Samsung’s business plans and interests.
Responsibilities
• Monitor government legislative and public policy changes and activities that could affect Samsung’s business and clients.
• Assist senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with members of government entities and agencies.
• Monitor and track national development plans, national digital development plans, annual expenditure plans to identify priority Gov’t sectors (ex. Healthcare, education, Gov’t services, field work, etc) and target officials.
• Create B2G business development plans that get awareness on and consideration for Samsung’s technologies relevant for Government use.
• Seek leadership roles in trade associations and industry committees.
• Attend Government-related conferences and collaborate with industry advocates to build areas of common interest.
• Testify before government committees in support of Samsung and/or industry, as needful.
• Represent Thai Samsung Electronics in coordinating with government officials in support of its business operations.
• Draft weekly & monthly internal Thai Government Relations reports for Global and Regional Headquarters.
• Undertake inter-state and international travel as required.
• Adhere at all times to company policies and procedures in the completion of required duties.
• Perform other duties as the role requires.
Requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong government contacts at various levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, Engineering, IT or related field required; MBA or law degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in advocacy or public policy required.
