Special Process Engineer (Aerospace)
About this position
The candidate will assist the special process Manager to setup and control all parameters in special process i.e. thermal spray, heat treatment, brazing and Nickel plating to guarantee and drive the team's performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) through team members development in order that the Activity reaches the objectives of customer satisfaction. Monitoring of production output and ensure that all employees work according to approved procedures and work instruction.
Responsibilities
• Work with Program management team on establishing /setting up process sequence, criteria to meet customer requirement.
• Review customer process’s specification and ensure compliances are met.
• Analysis and control process parameter, performance including coordinate with other departments to ensure that analysis and process control results are comply with customer requirement.
• Preparation for Process, Product and Equipment Qualification e.g. document, training operator.
• Establish and maintain PFMEA to related with process and our product.
• Monitor and maintain availability of equipment/shop aid to support manufacturing processes including to handling within process.
• Support and lead AS9100, Customer audit and Nadcap accreditation audit.
• Lead Problem solving on non-conformances, including corrective/preventive action e.g. 8D, 5-Why.
• Co-ordinate with Maintenance Team to establish appropriate PM (Preventive Maintenance) schedule.
• Initiate & complete Continuous Improvement project, VA/VE to improve productivity. Integration of 5S and Lean into Operational Environment.
• Manage overall operation Tooling data base, PM plan, calibration plan and maintain stability of tooling to ensure product build with good quality.
• Training Operational personnel on equipment and process’s requirements and establish Work Instruction to support production need.
• Ensure Project Timeline are met, escalate to Direct Leader and/or Program management upon encountering roadblocks which may impact Timeline.
• Monitor, report and improve Health and Safety within process, and ensure company policies are met.
• Support MCL engineer in terms of special process testing and audit (thermal spray coating, brazing, heat treatment).
• Identification of production equipment to purchase & liaise with production manager and procurement team to approve/make the purchase including stock management.
• Provide general assistance for any product quality acceptance and Quality Management System (QMS) compliant.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
• Maintain and ensure validation of calibration status of all Measurement and Testing Equipment (M&T E).
Requirements
• Minimum 2-3 years of engineering and process control in precision manufacturing industry. OR have experience with process(es) such as Heat treatment, Thermal Spray, Paint, Grit blasting, or tumbling.
• Graduated Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field (Metallurgical, Material, Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace are preferred).
• Experience in QMS of ISO 9001, AS9100, or Nadcap is preferred.
