Sourcing Section Head
About this position
The Sourcing Section Head is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies while leading a team to achieve sourcing objectives.
Responsibilities
• Develop Sourcing Strategies: Create and execute sourcing strategies that align with the company’s objectives and project needs.
• Supplier Management: Identify, selection, evaluate and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
• Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best possible outcomes for the company.
• Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all supplier and procured materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control costs to stay within budget while maintaining quality and seek opportunities for cost reduction on both tangible and intangible benefits.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Program, Engineering, Operation (production and quality) and other teams to understand and meet their material needs.
• Compliance: Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and pass audit from internal and External auditor.
• People (subordinates) Management and development: Manage and develop subordinates for team success by provide assistance, consultation, resolution and technical support on both functional and behavior skills.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sourcing and supplier activities and ensure sourcing process/procedure update and align with company compliance and EHS.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experiences: At least 7 years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of experience responsible on management level.
• Strong understanding of various industrial equipment used in manufacturing and fabrication processes such as welding, machining, casting, and assembly processes to ensure effective sourcing of materials and suppliers.
• Knowledge on MRP (Material Requirement Plan).
• Good command in English both speaking and writing (able to work with foreigner colleague).
• Computer literacy, Excel required.
• Experience or familiar with Oracle system.
• Proactive, result oriented and teamwork leadership style.
