Sourcing Engineer/Officer
About this position
The Sourcing Engineer/Officer is responsible for sourcing, selecting, and developing suppliers for new model parts and localization parts, ensuring supplier performance, and managing material supply risks.
Responsibilities
• Sourcing, identify, selection and develop local and oversea supplier for new model part and localization part.
• Manage supplier launch readiness and supplier selection process.
• Responsible for supplier performance evaluation and development to ensure material full supply per customer need.
• Review MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and create feasible 6 months of critical supplier audit plans for the factory under responsibility taking into account material supply and relevant lead time.
• Manage material constraint supply risk by develop contingency plans for critical suppliers, including alternative sourcing strategies or backup suppliers.
• Identify issues/ opportunities concerning major events e.g. factory shutdowns, transition of old/new part or products and etc.
• Analyze and proactive communicate Supplier and Material supply issues to relevant parties with proposal to minimize it.
• Analyze relevant supplier/material supply parameters and seek for improvements on regular basis e.g. Material Cost, MOQ, Lead time, LEAN concept, etc.
• Ensure sourcing process/procedure update and align with company compliance and EHS.
Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experiences: At least 5 years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Understand various of industrial equipment used in manufacturing and fabrication processes such as welding, machining, casting, and assembly processes to ensure effective sourcing of materials and suppliers.
• Knowledge on MRP (Material Requirement Plan).
• Good command in English both speaking and writing (able to work with foreigner colleague).
• Good in Computer literacy is required. (i.e., Excel)
• Experience or familiar with Oracle system.
