SAFETY OFFICER
About this position
Responsibilities
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
• Develop, implement and monitor safety policies, procedures and training programmes to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Provide safety-related training and education to employees, promoting safety awareness and best practices
• Collaborate with management and other departments to integrate safety considerations into business operations
• Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on safety performance and initiatives
• Stay up-to-date with changes in occupational health and safety legislation and best practices
Requirements
• Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar safety officer or safety management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Thorough understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Proactive, diligent and committed to promoting a safe work environment
